“Healing is not an event; it is a process.” John F. Barnes, PT
Whether you are suffering from an acute injury, rehabbing from a surgical procedure or have had chronic pain for years, therapeutic massage can help. Massage can decrease your pain and increase your range of motion using a wide variety of techniques and styles to release both muscle tension and fascial restrictions.
Depending on your issues or needs, I will use Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, PNF (Proprioceptor Neuromuscular Facilitation) or oppositional stretching techniques. I also have years of experience working with new mothers throughout their pregnancies and after delivery. My current passion is scar tissue release. Whether your scars are surgical or related to trauma, gentle release work of the scar tissue can resolve a variety of issues from limited range of motion, to chronic pain and decreased strength.
I have recently become a certified NeuroKinetic Therapy practitioner. Neuro-Kinetic Therapy (NKT) is a method of manual muscle testing designed to direct treatment and more accurately pinpoint the causes of pain. It was developed by manual therapist David Weinstock to help practitioners go directly to the cause of the pain rather than simply treating the symptoms of dysfunction and muscle imbalance. NKT is an assessment and treatment modality that addresses the causes of dysfunctional movement/coordination problems at their root in the motor control center in the cerebellum. NKT guides my treatments and helps me get to the root of where your pain is coming from.
I have over thirteen years of experience and success relieving headaches, TMJ pain, neck pain, lower back pain, shoulder injuries, tendonitis, whiplash, nerve pain including Sciatica and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and Plantar Fasciitis among many other conditions.
